Thunder boys and girls teams notch wins
KOOTENAI — Marian Soderberg had a strong all around game, tallying 15 points, eight rebounds, eight steals and four boards to lead the Kootenai Thunder girls basketball team to a 31-11 win over Pullman Christian School in recent Mountain Christian League action.
Madison McArthur added six points and nine rebounds, Machela Schork pulled down a game-high 20 rebounds, Gracie Jones posted five points and four rebounds and Libby Koch four points, 10 rebounds and three steals in the win.
The Thunder girls team followed that with a 63-19 loss to the North Idaho Christian School Royals. Angelica Jones scored 10 points to lead the Thunder, Soderberg five and Tara Jones and Koch two points each.
The Thunder then wrapped up a recent spate of games with a 39-20 loss to the Oaks. Scoring for the Thunder were Soderberg with eight points, McArthur four and Angelica Jones, Tara Jones, Koch and Schork two each.
The Thunder boys team was also in action, taking down Pullman 38-23 behind 17 points and four steals from Shayne Jensen. Tyrell Murray added nine points and five boards, Michael Favor four points and seven steals, Curtis Roop four points and four rebounds and Buckley Roop and Levi Favor two points each.
The Thunder followed that win with a 60-38 loss to the North Idaho Christian Royals, as Jensen again led the way with 14 points. Curtis Roop scored 11 points, Peter Soderberg six and Buckley Roop three in the loss.
Most recently, the Thunder beat the Oaks 49-25, with Curtis Roop pouring in 15 points to lead the way, Jensen adding 11, Soderberg seven and, Shepley Osman and Favor four apiece in the win.
