24 Hours of Schweitzer returns in March

| January 30, 2016 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Registration is now open for the eighth annual 24 Hours of Schweitzer, the all-day, all-night fundraiser held in honor of nine-year-old Hank Sturgis of Sandpoint and others suffering from the rare, fatal disease Cystinosis. This year’s theme, ‘Rock Around The Clock,’ will feature DJs and bands from around the area that will play throughout the event while skiers and snowboarders ride throughout the 24 hours.

The event will consist of two categories for skiers and boarders of all levels. The 24 Hour Challenge category and the Endurance category. The Challenge category consists of 3 or 4 person teams and will be based on a point system. Teams receive points for completing fun ‘challenge’ activities each hour. Teams in this category will also be allowed to ski the entire resort from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (followed by skiing on designated runs afterward). More information on the challenge category is available at www.24hoursforhank.org
