City did not discuss tree removal with residents

The current removal of many healthy trees at Lakeview Park is yet another example why so few people feel they can have any trust the city. I am now in that camp.?Was it made clear to the voters in any of the promotions for the new grandstands that a 40-foot swath of healthy trees would be removed? Every supporter I have talked to felt the new grandstands would be started immediately as soon as the last football game was played and it would have the same footprint as the current grandstands — just longer. We were deceived on the construction schedule and now, again, on the trees.?HELEN NEWTON?Sandpoint
