MCC's Bodacious BBQ goes Hawaiian with luau
The Memorial Community Center in Hope is inviting everyone to join them at the Litehouse Beach House, 46242 Highway 200, in East Hope on Saturday, July 16 for the Bodacious Barbecue fundraiser. The luau starts at 4:30 p.m. and lots of fun festivities are planned for this event, organizers said.
The luau barbecue will include complimentary appetizers, a no-host bar featuring beer and wine selections as well as non-alcoholic drinks, a catered dinner by Two Lakes Catering, silent and live auction fun, a bucket raffle, a 12-foot kayak raffle and get ready to dance to the music by local favorite, Dennis Wilson.
The dinner menu includes roasted pig, Hawaiian style pasta salad, corn on the cob, traditional coleslaw, rolls and butter, and, of course, dessert.
Among the auction items up for grabs are tickets to Men’s Gonzaga Basketball game, two tickets to the Sandpoint Festival concert of your choice, boat slip at Hope Marina, a two-hour lake cruise on the Shawnodese for up to 36 guests, POAC season tickets, a two-night stay at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Lake Tower Room with a $100 dining certificate.
Tickets to the Bodacious Barbecue are $50 each or purchase a table of eight for $480 which includes eight event tickets, the table of your choice, two bottles of wine, 16 bucket raffle tickets, and a beautiful floral arrangement! The Bodacious Barbecue is the main fundraiser of the year for the non-profit organization and helps us to keep our doors open. When you attend this event you are directly impacting the lives in your community by helping us to continue to provide Pre-School classes for our youngest community members, Pre-School scholarships for families with need, college scholarships for selected high school seniors, an area wide Christmas Giving Program, free Idaho Humanities Council events, and providing a meeting site for many local groups and clubs at an affordable rate.
