For Steve Klatt to say the celebration in Garfield Bay has gotten out of control and is a public safety nightmare, it a total fabrication. Has he even been here in the bay on the Fourth? It’s a very fun, local, family event. So, one day a year we have some congestion in Garfield Bay. We, the residents, don’t mind, so what’s it to Mr. Klatt? He is being a bully and just trying to throw his weight around.
My husband and I have owned our place in Garfield Bay for 35 years. We, and all the residents we know, look forward to this celebration every year. It’s fun to have our little bay full of happy people having a good time. They come, they stay, they play and then the next day they mostly all go home. So what’s the big deal? Maybe Mr. Klatt ought to get off his self-imposed throne and try having a little fun himself.
We do not approve of the changes that Mr. Klatt has taken it upon himself to impose on our once-a-year celebration.
Many people work very hard, spend lots of time and their own money to make this event possible, they are being denigrated by Mr. Klatt’s untrue words and his nasty attitude. Hmm, maybe I’ll just go pitch a tent on the beach and spend the night. I might even park on the other side of the stree, or horror of horrors, maybe I’ll anchor my boat in the bay. That may give him a nightmare.
