PONDERAY — A Ponderay retail landmark has changed its name to better reflect one of its main areas of expertise — shipping. Laszlo Suto, owner of the former Shipping Store, located just off Kootenai Cutoff Road at 105 Vermeer Drive, recently renamed his business Sandpoint Pack'nShip.

As an independent shipping store for 14 years, Sandpoint Pack'nShip provides three carrier options: FedEx, UPS and DHL. For extra-large or heavy items, freight transport is also available.

"We are packing experts and have over 70 box sizes for sale in our store. We have the perfect box for the item you are shipping," Suto said. "We can pack almost anything and ship it almost anywhere in the world."

In conjunction with the store's name change, Sandpoint Pack'nShip is offering customers an optional membership package that includes a 25-percent shipping discount, professional packing services, and use of the store's faxing and document shredding services.

"We will also email when your box is shipped out, so you can watch its progress as it moves across the country, and you will also receive an email when your package has arrived at its destination," said Suto.

He owns the adjacent consumer loan business, The Money Depot, which patrons can continue to access within Sandpoint Pack'nShip. A large parking lot out front provides added convenience, and anyone using the shipping services will receive a complimentary York Peppermint Pattie as a thank you, Suto said.
