Sandpoint Rotary Golf Tournament on tap

| July 7, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Get ready to tee it up for a great cause, as the Sandpoint Rotary Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, July 29 at the Elks Golf Course.

Register early to guarantee your spot in the four person scramble, which will tee off at 1:30 p.m. after a 12:30 p.m. registration. There will be closest to the pin and long drive contests, with prizes for the winners.

The cost is $45 per player, and includes a hamburger dinner with beer and soda. There will also be silent and live auction items, including local restaurant gift certificates and tickets to Spokane games.

All of the proceeds go to scholarships for local high school students. Teams of four are welcome, and any individual will be placed on a team. Extra people are welcome to attend the dinner only, for a cost of $15.

“We just have a good time out there,” said Rotary member Mike Brown, who helps organize the tournament. “We made a net of $5,000 last year, and it goes to Sandpoint High School.”
