The Sandpoint Majors All-Stars ended a 14-13 win over Hayden at the district tournament with a rare 6-3-5 double play. Clinging to a one-run lead with one out and the tying run on second base, Sandpoint shortstop Gerrit Cox fields a ground ball and checks the runner at second before firing to first for the first out.
Ethan Butler catches the ball at first, and promptly fired across the diamond to third, as the base runner took off as soon as Cox threw the ball. The team had turned the more conventional 6-4-3 double play earlier in the game to also end an inning, but this one was slightly more special.
