Parks board has vacancy

| July 9, 2016 1:00 AM

While one position on the Idaho Parks and Recreation Board has been filled, Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter is seeking applicants for another vacancy on the board.

Otter announced the appointment Thursday of Michael Boren of Boise to the Idaho Parks and Recreation Board. The Clearwater Analytics chairman will represent southwestern Idaho’s District 3 on the six-member panel that oversees the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation.

The governor also called today for applicants to fill a new vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Board representing northern Idaho’s District 1. Applicants must live in District 1, which includes Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah and Shoshone counties.

Anyone interested may contact Ann Beebe in the governor’s office at 208-334-2100 or by email at ann.beebe@gov.idaho.gov. Applications via email must be received by the Otter’s office by July 29, or postmarked by July 29 if sent by regular mail.

The Idaho Parks and Recreation Board provides citizen oversight for the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. Board members are appointed to six-year terms. No more than three members can be from a single political party, and each member represents one of six districts of the state. The board appoints and supervises the agency’s director.
