I would like to say thank you to the Bonner County Sportsman’s Association, the city of Sandpoint’s Parks and Recreation Department, local businesses and many others too numerous to mention which contributed to the Brownells’/National Rifle Association Daughters and Sons Day at the range. This event took place June 11-12 at the Sandpoint outdoor shooting range and was for the purpose of teaching gun safety to the youth of our area.

Boys and girls had the opportunity to learn firearms safety, safe gun handling, respect for firearms and marksmanship from several firearms safety/marksmanship instructors. The event was safe, professional and clean, and a good time for children and adults alike. A small meal and snacks were also provided after the event. The whole thing was free for the public.

I would like to thank all involved for reaching out to the youth of the area to teach responsibility and safety with firearms, and functional skills that may prove to save a life someday.
