Stapleton to speak at chamber luncheon

SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce would like to invite area residents and businesses to July’s general membership luncheon Thursday, July 14.

The luncheon will be held from 12-1 p.m. in the Community Room of the Sandpoint Center, 414 Church St. July’s luncheon is sponsored by Lewis-Clark State College.

This month’s speaker will be Jennifer Stapleton, city administrator with city of Sandpoint. Stapleton just passed her six-month mark since taking the job as Sandpoint’s first city administrator. She will be speaking about her experiences so far, what she has accomplished in the last six months and what she sees in the future for Sandpoint.

With a strong background in public policy and management, Stapleton is focused on taking the city’s operations to the next level. She ensures the fiscal foundation of the city remains strong and continues to sustain the multiple services vital to taxpayers.

Stapleton said she believes renewing and revitalizing our downtown, creating and retaining livable wage jobs and affordable housing, as well as developing and expanding regional transportation options is the platform for strengthening the community as a whole.

Stapleton said she direct communications between city officials and Sandpoint residents, taking pride in attending community meetings, speaking at public functions, participating in charitable and other community activities and addressing the needs of residents with a hands-on approach.

At Thursday’s meeting, Stapleton plans to highlight significant current and new initiatives in the city as well as with various projects anticipated in the year ahead.

Reservations are required and all are welcome. The cost of the luncheon is $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-chamber members.
