Water board meeting here

SANDPOINT — The Idaho Water Resource Board will be discussing Priest Lake and adjudication of water rights in northern Idaho when it meets in Sandpoint later this month.

The board will take in a background session on Priest Lake and discuss a water management study on the lake on Thursday, July 21. Those items will be followed by a tour of Priest Lake.

The board will take up scores of additional items, including water rights adjudication, when it reconvenes on Friday, July 22.

Both meetings start at 8 a.m. at the Best Western Edgewater Resort in Sandpoint.

The July 22 meeting will begin with a closed-door session regarding Coeur d’Alene-Spokane River Basin Adjudication and Swan Falls. Following the executive session, the board will take public comment and discuss a laundry list of topics including an state water plan sustainability policy update, a briefing from the Idaho Department of Water Resource’s northern regional manager and an update on adjudication in the Panhandle.
