Skate park set to close for repairs

SANDPOINT — Attention all skateboarders, scooter riders and anyone else who enjoys the Concrete Lake at Travers Park: The skate park will be closed for repairs from Wednesday, July 20 through Friday night, July 22.

Each year, in anticipation of the annual King of the Kongcrete competition, the park is closed for patching, sealing and various other maintenance items to improve the park. The concrete patching and sealing requires 72 hours to cure, so any activity will be prohibited until the park re-opens.

The 11th annual King of the Kongcrete competition will hit Sandpoint on Aug. 20, with skaters of all ages from around the region on hand to perform tricks and all kinds of aerials.
