WA woman drowns

SANDPOINT — A Spokane woman died in a drowning accident late Wednesday night after walking back to the condominium she was staying in after a night out with her husband.

Linda Louise Marshall, 64, of Spokane and her husband went to the Floating Restaurant for dinner. Marshall decided to stay a bit longer and her husband walked back to the condo, said Bonner County Sheriff’s Capt. Ror Lakewold.

After leaving the restaurant sometime between 11 p.m.-midnight, Lakewold said it appears Marshall fell into Lake Pend Oreille while walking back to the condo and drowned.

BCSO officials have interviewed restaurant staff and others in the area, however, no one saw Marshall fall into the water. Sheriff’s officials are continuing to talk to witnesses and have pulled videotape from nearby businesses but no cameras face the water, Lakewold said.

“We’re still investigating to confirm it was an accident but everything is pointing to it being just that, a tragic unfortunate situation,” he said.
