Borders … are artificial, you know. Borders do not exist in nature. Ecosystems exist and where ecosystems overlap there is no defined border. We see simply that some elements of each system exist side by side and that there is a gradual transition from one system to the next one.

Through history we have seen borders come and go. The borders of the Greek Empire no longer exist. The borders of the Roman Empire no longer exist. Heck, the borders of the British Empire no longer exist.

Borders can also be created by ideologies of all kinds, religious, cultural, political. These borders, too, are artificial and temporal.

Forces of nature are not artificial. Forces of nature simply exist, gravity, light, darkness, heat, cold. Forces of nature simply exist and are irrepressible; they overcome whatever is artificial and temporal.

The yearning of a heart to be free is a force of nature. The yearning to provide a better life for one’s children is a force of nature. These forces will not be denied by artificial things like borders. These forces can not be denied by borders created from ideology.

The unrest we see today in our country is simply a result of irreversible changes. Idealogical borders created by whiteness and wealth and power are doomed — the temporal nature of all borders and are soon to be no more. I, for one, have confidence that what arises will be more egalitarian, more humane, more just and less corrupt.
