SOFD hosts breakfast

| July 22, 2016 1:00 AM

It’s too hot to cook. Instead, go over to the Sam Owen Fire Station for a breakfast that will start your day off right. A scenic drive along Highway 200 will take you to the station, located at the junction of Peninsula Road in Hope.

On Saturday, you can sit down and enjoy a steaming hot breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee or tea for a fantastic price of $5.00 for adults or $2.50 for children under 12. Breakfast hours have been extended to 7:30-11 a.m. to accommodate all.

After breakfast, take time to tour the station and meet the firefighters. You’ll have the opportunity to sit in the trucks and try on the uniforms. It’s surprising how heavy the equipment is. Then meet Phineas the firedog, and take home free handouts for the children (including Dalmatian Junior Firefighter hats).

This is the major community event and only fund-raiser for the Sam Owen Fire District. For more information about this event call 264-5101.
