Charlene May Bowey, 73

Charlene May Bowey, 73, died Friday evening, July 8, 2016, at Bonner General Health in Sandpoint, Idaho, from complications of pneumonia.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in the garden at Valley Vista Care, where Char lived the past three years.

She was born May 1, 1943, to Charles William (Bill) and Irene Bowey in Bremerton, Wash.

She was confirmed and baptized at the First Lutheran Church of Kenne-wick, Wash., in December 1968.

Char-lene lived in Garfield Bay for several decades with her beloved late mother, Irene Wolff, and her stepfather, Harold Wolff.

Char was a spirited person with an original and charming wit. She had a keen interest in pugs, especially Blackie, who was a constant companion for many years while she lived at Sandpoint Assisted Living prior to her move to Valley Vista. Char enjoyed reading, going to the library with Ralph every week, movies, and sundaes at Dub’s Drive-In. She especially enjoyed the park on Lake Street.

She loved visiting with her friends Jackie Bortoluzzi, Chalmarie Herr, Julie Wangbichler, and Susan Drinkard. She was shown much kindness and loving attention from the staff at Valley Vista Care.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Bowey, of Seattle, Wash.

Inurnment will be beside her mother at Liberty Bell Court Niches at Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood, Wash.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Panhandle Animal Shelter in memory of Char and Blackie.
