Annual fundraiser benefits Grants and Scholarship program

SANDPOINT — Attention area golfers who want to tee it up while supporting a great cause: The Selkirk Association of Realtors is pleased to announce its 26th annual Charity Golf Tournament, benefiting their Grants and Scholarships program, on Friday, June 24 with registration starting at 9 a.m. at Stone Ridge Golf Course and Resort, and a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

The tournament is a scramble format with four-person teams. One lucky golfer could win $10,000 cash for a hole-in-one shot, or be drawn in the $1,000 putt raffle. There will be wonderful raffle prizes, such as gift certificates to local merchants, restaurants, services and more, available to those who wish to purchase raffle tickets.

There will also be Coeur d’Alene Resort stay and play silent auctions as well as prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt, and first and last place teams.

The entry fee is $95 per player, with teams of four or solo entries welcome. Each player’s entry fee includes a continental breakfast, greens fees, cart, burger on the turn, two Mulligans, one raffle ticket and a cooler filled with goodies.

The golf tournament is the Association’s major fundraiser each year in support of its Grants and Scholarships programs. SAR is a not-for-profit organization whose membership comprises realtors, appraisers, and other businesses affiliated with and supporting the real estate profession.

Each year SAR gives thousands of dollars to local groups in need of funding for their community projects and programs in Bonner and Boundary Counties and to graduating seniors and continuing college students. In the last five years, SAR has given away more than $40,000 to qualifying students and groups in Bonner and Boundary Counties, such as: Community Cancer Services; Blanchard Area Seniors; Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry, Hope/Clark Fork Food Banks; Bags of Love; Kinderhaven; KRFY Public Radio; Habitat for Humanity; Daybreak Program; VFW; Marine Corp League and more.

All of the proceeds from the tourney go directly into the Grants and Scholarships Fund.
