Charles D. Morales, 56

Charles D. Morales, 56, went to his final resting place on May 17, 2016, after a tragic car accident in Sagle, Idaho.

Charles (Chuck) was born Nov. 12, 1959, in Castro Valley, Calif., and was a longtime resident of the greater Vacaville/Winters area until the past 10 years where he resided in northern Idaho.

He was a graduate of Armijo High School in 1978 and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. After serving in the Army, he became a tradesman and spent most of his adult career working as a union carpenter. He was a likeable guy, had an incredible sense of humor and had many friends. He was proud of his Spanish heritage and loved to live life on the edge. An exceptional cook and barbecue master, and loyal friend, he was a good-hearted person. He loved his family, friends and his country.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Arlene J. Morales; his maternal grandparents, Mike and Aurelia Hemenez; and his paternal grandparents, Mary and Antonio Morales.

Chuck is survived by his father, Anthony R. Morales; his children, son Matthew Morales, and daughter Sara (Nate) Kent; his grandchildren, Amelia and Jonah Kent; a sister, Wendy (Terry) Smaystrla; his nephews, Nick Smaystrla (Deanna Shimboff), Katie (Justin) Jones and Mike Smaystrla (Jessica Forster); and numerous relatives.

A funeral and reception celebration of life will be held Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. A reception will follow at Vacaville Opera House.

Internment will be private
