Paws for a Cause set for Saturday

| June 3, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — It’s no wonder dogs are man’s best friend; after all they, too, are now helping to raise money for a good cause. And they will be doing it by engaging in the activity they enjoy most — going for a walk.

Every dog has his day—and it’s going to be this Saturday, June 4 , when the Community Assistance League sponsors the 4th annual Paws for a Cause/Poker Dog Walk from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Dover. Entry fee to the walk is by donation and there will be prizes for best poker hand. There will also be a silent auction with gift certificates and baskets. Each dog will receive a colorful kerchief and treats for taking part in the walk. All proceeds will benefit Community Cancer Services.

Appropriately, the Paws for a Cause Dog Walk will take place on the Balto Dog Loop in Dover. It is a 35-minute brisk walk through the park, over bridges, through a wooded area and back along the main entry to Dover Bay. Come out to Dover on Saturday, walk your dog (or just walk yourself if you’re dogless) and help to raise money for a worthwhile cause! If you have questions or would like to sponsor a “Watering Hole” please contact Tina Reynolds at 208-290-1546.
