Youth tennis classes serve up summer fun
SANDPOINT — Attention kids of all ages interested in learning tennis, or improving your game: Registration for 2016 Youth Tennis season has begun.
Each age group listed below has multiple sessions offered, but they’ll fill up fast so register early to guarantee your spot in class. Partial scholarships are available on a need basis.

n Tennis for Tiny Tots (Ages 4-5)
Special training techniques and toys will be used to keep our Tiny Tots, ages 4-5, smiling and having fun. The class size is limited to just six kids per session, and the cost is just $12 ($2 city discount). Lessons are held at Lakeview Park, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-8:45 a.m.
Session No. 1: Tuesday, June 14 and Thursday, June 16.
Session No. 3: June 28 and 30.
Session No. 4: July 5 and 7.
Session No. 6: July 19 and 21.
Session No. 7: July 26 and 28.
n Tennis for Hot Hitters (Ages 6-7)
Hot Hitters, ages 6-7, will enjoy training with age appropriate techniques, toys and a healthy dose of fun. Lessons are held at Lakeview Park, Monday through Thursday, from 9–10 a.m. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).
Session No. 1: June 13-16.
Session No. 3: June 27-30.
Session No. 4: July 5-8.
Session No. 6: July 18-21.
Session No. 7: July 25-28.
n Tennis for Beginner Youth (Ages 8-12)
These lessons introduce beginner players, ages 8-12, to sound tennis fundamentals. All sessions are held at Lakeview Park on Monday through Thursday, from 10–11 a.m. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).
Session No. 1: June 13-16.
Session No. 3: June 27-30.
Session No. 4: July 5-8.
Session No. 6: July 18-21.
Session No. 7: July 25-28.
n Tennis for Intermediate Youth (Ages 8-12)
These lessons teach fundamentals, strategy and play to intermediate players ages 8 to 12. Beginning lessons or play experience is required. All sessions are held at Lakeview Park, Monday through Thursday, from 11-noon. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).

n Tennis Teen Skill Development (middle school and high school JV players)
These summer tennis sessions are designed for middle school or high school age players, with previous experience, to build upon basic fundamentals, to improve their game, and take it to the next level. Players will work on stroke refinement, movement on the court and strategy. All sessions are held at Lakeview Park, Monday through Thursday, from noon–1 p.m. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).

n Tennis Intensive Skill Development (High School Varsity Players)
This summer session is for high school age players who have considerable playing experience. Participants will work on stroke refinement, movement, strategy and what it takes to be a winning varsity player. All sessions are held at Lakeview Park, Monday through Thursday, from noon-1 p.m. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).
