Ultimate frisbee action heating up in Sandpoint
SANDPOINT β Looking for a great cardio workout, achieved while having an absolute blast? Then the fun and exciting sport of Ulimate Frisbee might just be for you.
A group of Sandpoint players are now playing twice a week throughout the summer months. Players meet around 5:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday at Great Northern Park, with action usually getting started closer to 6 p.m. in the summer months. Male and female players of all skill levels are welcome to play in the games, with players subbing out after points.
The sport is played by a team of seven trying to advance the frisbee down the field into the end zone, akin to football, except the disc can only be advanced by throwing. Itβs a non-contact sport, featuring plenty of running, and combines elements of soccer, football and of course, chucking the frisbee.
