Based on observations in our local supermarkets, here are possible conversations between two wives and their husbands in 21st century Sandpoint. Both are identical, except for a couple of words, words that gives them strange dissonance.
Wife one: “Honey, if you’re through with the yard, can you pick up a few things for me at the store?” “Sure, sweetheart.” “Here’s the list, got your keys?” “Right here.” “Oh honey, don’t forget your Glock 9mm. You never know who you might run into in the deli or the bakery.”
Wife two: “Honey, if you’re through with the yard, can you pick up a few things for me at the store?” “Sure, sweetheart.” “Here’s the list, got your keys?” “Right here.” “Oh honey, don’t forget your bullet-proof vest. You never know who you might run into in the deli or the bakery.”
