101 Women, Sandpoint sets grant opportunity

| June 17, 2016 1:00 AM

In an effort to support the critical work of nonprofit organizations in Bonner County, 101 Women, Sandpoint offers two new funding opportunities.

101 Women, Sandpoint is a newly formed, non-profit funding organization with a membership of 101 local women. The group was created for the sole purpose of providing a simple and powerful way to leverage the modest giving of many into substantial funding for local groups.

The group is offering two, $10,000 grants per year to Bonner County non-profit organizations that are located and operate in Bonner County. The group’s funding includes a wide focus area with only religious and political groups excluded.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for a group of smaller donors to join forces to show their support for the community they love,” said 101 Women Board Member Angie Dail. “By coming together and pooling our resources, we can make a sizable gift for a local organization and have a huge, positive impact in our community.”

Interested applications are asked to submit an online application by July 15 for the fall award or March 15 for the spring award.

Three applicants will be chosen from those that apply, by the group’s grant committee through a weighted, judged system. These top three applicants will be asked to present their organization’s purpose and need for funding at one of 101 Women’s bi-annual meetings.

At the meeting, the 101 Women membership will then cast their votes to choose the winning organization. This group will receive the $10,000 grant award.

Interested groups can find more information and the application online at www.101womensandpoint.wildapricot.org.
