College coaches to lead Sandpoint Volleyball Camp
SANDPOINT — Any and all area volleyball players from 6-18 years-old are invited to come and learn the finer points of the game from college coaches, as the Sandpoint Volleyball Camp hits town from June 20-23 at SHS.
Coaches from Eastern Washington University, the University of Montana, the University of Idaho and the Sandpoint Volleyball Club will be on hand to lead the four-day skills camp, as will coaches from Sandpoint High School.
Players ages 6-12 years-old will go each day from 10 a.m. to noon at SHS, and the cost of that camp is $75. Players ages 13-18 will go from 1-4 p.m. each day, and the cost is $100 per camper.
Campers will have the opportunity to fine tune their overall volleyball skills, as well as get targeted training in their preferred position from high level coaches, including EWU’s No. 1 assistant Matt Dyck, who has Sandpoint ties. Players will also be placed in game-like situations, giving them an opportunity to compete and develop leadership skills and mental toughness.
Campers are encouraged to show up 20 minutes before the start of each session to get warmed up before things start, and should wear non-marking shoes, knee pads and bring their own water bottle.
To sign up for the camp, show up before the start of the first session with a parent and insurance card.
