NIC students earn BPA national honors
Four North Idaho College student members of Business Professionals of America competed at the 2016 BPA National Leadership Conference held in Boston in May, with two of them placing in the top 10 nationally. BPA is a national organization for high school and college students preparing for careers in business and technical fields.
Amber Lehmann, from Post Falls, LaCheale Linscott, from Sagle, Patrick Buffington from Coeur d’Alene, and Kayla Lyons from Coeur d’Alene, placed in BPA state competitions in March to qualify to attend the national competition. Linscott took first place in the fundamental word processing competition and fifth place in basic office systems and procedures. Lehmann placed fourth in fundamental word processing.
“NIC BPA members competed against other university and college students from 26 states in various business competitions,” said Tacey Keylon, NIC BPA advisor. “They represented NIC wonderfully at the conference and we couldn’t be prouder of their success at the state and national level.”
