Library welcomes Spokane Empire

SANDPOINT — On your mark, get set, read!

The East Bonner County Library District wants to keep kids and their families moving and reading this summer with the 2016 Summer Reading initiative which highlights sports and physical activity. In keeping with that theme, the library will be hosting tons of special events and activities for people of all ages throughout summer.

The Spokane Empire professional football team (formerly the Spokane Shock) is getting in on the action with a family fun football event at Memorial Field at 6 p.m. today.

Several team members will be on hand to sign autographs, host a football clinic and lead a game of flag football. Attendees can enter a drawing for championship tickets.

The event is free for all ages and sponsored by the library district, Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and Spokane Empire.
