Calling all Hoopfest players

| June 24, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Each year, scores of basketball junkies trek south for Hoopfest, a little tournament in Spokane that just happens to be the largest 3-on-3 outdoor basketball tournament on earth.

More than 7,000 teams, supported by more than 200,000 fans, will encompass 450 basketball courts while taking over 42 downtown city blocks.

Per usual, a handful of those teams will be hailing from Sandpoint. From grade school, to middle school, to high school, to adults, players of all ages represent Sandpoint at Hoopfest.

Local Joel Aispuro, who coaches the Kootenai Thunder boys basketball team, has won a handful of Hoopfest brackets over the years, as have a handful of other Sandpoint players.

When the action is finally over, don’t forget to snap a photo and let the Bee know how your team fared.

Send any Hoopfest pictures, along with names and results, to eplummer@bonnercountydailybee.com for publication in a future sports page.

And one.
