Boyer road work set to begin today
SANDPOINT — Ongoing road work on Schweitzer Cutoff will occasion traffic detours this week, according to Scott Rusho, construction manager with Interstate Concrete, the contractor working on the project.
"Boyer Avenue at the intersection of Schweitzer Cutoff Road will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 28 and 29, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the installation of storm sewer pipes across the intersection. The intersection will be opened to traffic each night at 6 p.m.," he said.
Boyer Avenue will remain open to local motorists north of Baldy Mountain Road, and traffic detour routes will include Baldy Mountain Road, Great Northern Road, Woodland Drive, Boyer Road and Schweitzer Cutoff Rd, according to Rusho.
The remainder of next week, Boyer Avenue will be open to one-way traffic.
The storm pipe installation is part of a Sandpoint Public Works project to add a bike lane between Boyer Avenue and Boyer Road along Schweitzer Cutoff. The city's projected completion date for bike lane is late September.
