PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Pursuant to I.C. 50-222, 67-6511 and 67-6509, the East Hope City Council will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. to consider a conditional use permit and variance permit request. At the public hearing the City Council will hear testimony regarding a conditional use permit to allow the construction of two municipally-owned buildings (sand filter and water storage tank) and a structural addition to the existing chlorine contact chamber at the City's water treatment facility in the Single Family Residential (R-1) zoning district. In addition, the City Council will also hear a variance request to allow a proposed water storage tank to exceed the 18ft maximum height requirement to allow the structure to be constructed at +/- 36ft. This also includes a request for a proposed water storage tank to be placed with a +/- 5ft front yard setback where a 25ft setback is required and a +/- 5ft side yard setback where a 10ft setback is required. A request to allow a proposed sand filter to be placed with a +/- 5ft side yard setback where a 10ft setback is required is also included. The public hearings will be at East Hope City Hall located at 110 School Road, Hope, Idaho. Copies of the file can be viewed at city hall during normal business hours 9am - 1pm, Monday - Thursday and Friday 9am - noon or by calling 264-5877 to make an appointment. Public comment is welcomed and encouraged at the public hearing. Any member of the public may provide verbal testimony or evidence at the public hearing regarding how the proposed application does or does not comply with the applicable standards of City of East Hope codes or those pertinent Idaho Codes. Written statements longer than one (1) standard letter-sized, single spaced page must be submitted no later than six (6) calendar days prior to the date of the public hearing. Written statements longer than 1 standard letter-size may not be accepted at the public hearing. Comments can be sent to PO Box 186, Hope Idaho 83836. Assistance for persons with disabilities will be provided, upon provision of verbal or written notice to city staff 24 hours in advance of the meeting. At the close of the public hearing, the City council may decide to approve, deny, remand the application back to the applicant or continue the hearing unto a date and time certain. A decision may also be withheld until a future date. The public is encouraged to participate in the public hearing.
