Honoring flag equals honoring U.S. veterans

I look at the letters to the editor section and various comments from readers of the “Bee,” kind of like taking the pulse of the community. One issue that catches my attention is the lack of respect displayed toward the flag by some. I believe we are victims of our life experiences and it got me to thinking, why do I love our flag and here’s my answer. As a young man I was one of the many thousands of Americans drafted into military service during the Vietnam War.
