SANDPOINT — New grant money is on the table for behavior health projects in Bonner and Boundary counties, thanks to an anonymous local family. North Idaho Action Fund announced the grant Friday with its inaugural call for applications. The deadline is March 31.

NIAF offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 to eligible organizations. The money can fund projects addressing substance abuse, psychiatric care, suicide prevention and education as well as other behavioral health-focused programs. Educational programs on pertinent topics and ancillary services that support treatment, including housing, transportation, childcare and food security, are also eligible for funding, according to the press release.
