Confusion over city tax creates problems

On Sunday, Feb. 28, I went to Home Depot in Ponderay to get an estimate for a kitchen that will go into a house I hope to build soon.
A young lady completed a very professional estimate for me and I noted that the tax reflected in the estimate was at the 7-percent rate. I mentioned this and was told that there was an Sandpoint city ordinance that required Home Depot to collect sales taxes at that rate for anyone who had a delivery address in the 83864 ZIP code.
