| March 19, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Once again, Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and the Sandpoint Sailing Association are combining to offer free Saturday Sailing Workshops that have valuable information for anyone interested in sailing.

The next workshop, about the “J24,” will be held on Saturday, March 26, from 1-4 p.m. at the Sandpoint Community Hall (204 1st Ave.). The workshops provide a great way to get involved in the local sailing community during the winter months. No pre-registration is required, just show up ready to learn.

The class will cover every aspect of sailing these popular performance boats from what to look for if you are in the market to purchase a J24 sailboat, to local and regional racing opportunities. There will be discussion about setting the boat up, tuning the rig, and sailing techniques to get the most out of this classic racer.

Adults and Youth at least 10 years old are encouraged to attend.

Please check the Sandpoint Sailing Association website for more information at www.sandpointsailing.com, or call Sandpoint Parks & Rec at 263-3613.
