Justice Antonin Scalia has been called a champion of interpreting the U.S. Constitution as it was understood at the time of its adoption. Maybe, but if so why were so many of his decisions aimed at rewriting the Constitution and replacing the republic with a plutocracy? Consider:

Where in the Constitution does it say that corporations are persons?

The Second Amendment begins with “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state …” Since we have no militias, why can't the bearing of all arms be strictly regulated?

Where in the Constitution did it give the Supreme Court the right to interfere with the ongoing Florida election recount and to allow no further recounts? The recount was allowed to proceed as long as George W. Bush was ahead, but the Court took over when it appeared that Al Gore was certain to become the next president.

Do the justices operate on the premise that the Constitution is whatever the Supreme Court says it is?

Apparently, the Republicans are happy with things the way they were, so no nominations will be allowed until they get a Republican president, if ever.
