Hello to all veterans and families of all veterans,

I am writing to thank everyone that has written in about the issue concerning our Long Bridge and the renaming of it. I would like to bring to light the fact that we have a memorial to all fallen veterans of all the wars this country has participated in — War Memorial Field. No, it is NOT Barlow Stadium or any of the other “names” some of you would like to give it … and I will not venture into the latest travesty to “hit” our Memorial Stadium/field. My heart goes out to the families who do not feel represented.

It has been several years since the city hired someone to repair the actual memorial to our fallen family members … thanks, John … and it was in serious disrepair. I doubt that few even know it's there.

To the family of the fallen service man I say this … join us in remembering all that have fallen and let us never

forget what they and theirs gave — everything.
