PRIEST RIVER — Police are investigating a report of a stabbing that occurred early Friday morning.

Priest River Police, in addition to deputies from the Bonner and Pend Oreille county sheriff's offices, responded to the report in the pre-100 block of East Lincoln Avenue. The report was made at 1 a.m., although law enforcement didn't reach the scene until after 2 a.m., according to a Bonner Dispatch call report.

Details were hard to come by on Friday. Chief Drew McLain was not immediately available for comment and a department official said she could not comment on the matter because it remained under investigation.

However, police officials said the incident does not appear to be related to an ongoing manhunt in eastern Bonner County for a man suspected of stabbing and mortally wounding a Nampa man on March 10. James Patrick Mancuso, who's being sought for arrest on a charge of second-degree murder, and Ashley Ford managed to elude Idaho State Police during a traffic stop in Kootenai on Wednesday.

The search for Mancuso, 32, and Ashley Ford, 27, continued on Friday in the Pack River Valley area.

“Even though it does not appear to be related to that case, stay vigilant and lock your house at night,” the Priest River Police said in a post to its Facebook page.

The alleged victim in the stabbing has reportedly been released and is expected to recover.

Bonner County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Shane Greenbank said late Friday that there is no suspect.
