Lund-Andersen, Aylward lead Bulldog track team at Bonners Ferry

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint boys and girls teams swept the Bonners Ferry Invitational with a strong showing on Saturday, with 61 of the 90 athletes competing turning in personal records, led by Fin Lund-Andersen winning Runner of the Meet Award and Janice Aylward Field Athlete of the Meet. 

Cori McClelland started the day off by running a 47 second PR in the 3,200 to win the race and achieve the Pasco qualifier. Sharon Rowe ran a 12:49 for 3rd, also setting a PR. In the boys 3,200 Fin Lund-Andersen and Jacob Graham took 2nd and 3rd with a 10:00 (PR) and a 10:05, both Pasco qualifiers and the top two 4A times in the state right now.
In the girls 1,600 Katherine Kaul took 3rd with a 5:30, followed by teammate Hannah Davidson in 4th with a 5:35, and McClelland placing fifth in 5:47. Kaly Scheel also dipped under 6 minutes for the first time, running a 5:55 in 7th place. The boys 1,600 saw Fin run another PR, winning the race in 4:39 and receiving the Runner of the Meet Award for his performance on the day. Graham was 3rd (4:47) and Sloan Woodward 5th (5:05) to round out the scoring five.
