Donald Dean Uecker, 83

Donald Dean Uecker, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Hayden, Idaho. Private family services have been held.

Don was born on July 3, 1932, in Oakdale, Neb., to Roy and Katherine Uecker. He grew up and attended schools in Tilden, Neb. After high school he join the United States Air Force and served in Korea.

Don married Arlene Ahlers on July 22, 1956, in El Segundo, Calif. He worked for Southern Califor-nia Edison as a lineman, first in Torrance and later in Running Springs. In 1972, Don went to work for Washington Water Power in Spokane. He retired as a line foreman in 1994.

In 2006 he and Arlene moved to Sagle, Idaho, to be closer to family.

He was a member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and attended the local Alzheimer's support group.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, working in his shop and yard, and raising farm animals.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Uecker of Sagle; his son, Steven and wife Laura Uecker of Sagle; a daughter, Diane Uecker of Spokane; two granddaughters, Caitlyn and Emma Uecker of Sagle; and one sister Elaine Moyer of Redding, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Luthera Neschke and Ardith Wagoner; and a brother, Homer Uecker.
