SANDPOINT — Mark you calendars for April 5 as the 7B Women, a committee of the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, welcome Jennifer Plummer, the Executive Director for Kinderhaven, an emergency shelter and group home for abused and neglected children located in Sandpoint.

Plummer has been at Kinderhaven for approximately two years serving as the assistant executive director. When Executive Director Phyllis Horvath retired in January, Plummer took over as executive director and is looking forward to sharing with the 7B Women all about Kinderhaven and the Blue Ribbon Campaign the nonprofit will be conducting in April.

“April is child abuse prevention month, and Kinderhaven is such a vital part of our community,” said 7B Women chair and Kinderhaven's current board secretary and former board chair, Kim Diercks.

The luncheon is open to everyone in the community, both men and women. The cost is $20 or $15 for chamber members. Pre-registration is highly encouraged. The luncheon takes place at Tango Café in the Columbia Bank Building from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 5.

If people would like an opportunity to promote their business, they are asked to bring an item to raffle and will be given a “minute with the mic” at the conclusion of the luncheon.

Join the 7B Women and learn more about Kinderhaven and what they are doing to raise awareness of child abuse.

Register by contacting the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce at 208-263-2161 or online at sandpointchamber.org.
