The Bonner County commissioners changed land use codes. Now they have the means to change zoning with little or no public input or oversight. Consider, for example, changing the housing density in zones requiring 10-acre parcels with only one residence, to allowing 10 houses on the same parcel? That country living you thought you had would go away quickly with a neighborhood next door.

You should be very concerned if you own property in Bonner County. Increasing “affordability” means reducing your property value. The county commissioners should be concerned about balancing property rights with property values, too.

Voting for Jeff Connolly and Lewie Rich will return the rule of law, common sense, and public input into the process. Jeff has a long record of working effectively on the Priest River City Council and the Panhandle Collaborative. Lewie has a sound background working on the county comp plan and code.
