The Freedom Foundation bases its legislators’ ratings on a few selected votes that appear to reflect a far right extreme position on government responsibility; i.e. if you vote no on roads, education, adequate prison funding, etc., you get a good rating.

The American Conservation Union rates legislators on bills that focus on:

1. Fiscal and economic taxes, budgets, regulation, spending, healthcare, and property:

2. Second Amendment, religion, life, welfare, and education and

3. Government integrity.

Sen. Keough is rated low on the Freedom Foundation with its limited criteria. She is rated among the highest of Idaho legislators by the American Conservation Union using its more complete criteria that recognizes more fully a legislator’s responsibilities to its state and its citizens.

I believe the rating of the ACU far better reflects Sen. Keough’s work in the Legislature on behalf of Idaho and its citizens.
