With the advent of spring, First Lutheran has a lot going on and the community is invited to jon the congregation.
On Sunday, May 8, Mother’s Day, those attending will be each given baby bottles at the end of the services. They will be reminders as to how we support life and how much God loves us and has plans for us, even in the womb, congregation members said. Then on Father’s Day, June 19th, the baby bottles will be returned — full of coins, currency, or a generous check.
“They will then be taken to our local Life Choice Pregnancy Center to help save the lives of unborn children,” said Sonya Nordgaaqrden. “Our gifts will be used to help mothers make the choice for life.”
The First Lutheran congregation will be celebrating Pentecost on Sunday, May 15, and will wear red symbolic of the Holy Spirit descending in flames on the heads of the Disciples. In addition, the church will be giving thanks to its various volunteers in recognition of their response to the Holy Spirit’s call in various ways.
On Sunday, June 12, the congregation will be honoring its high school graduates: Brett Hutchens, Paul Sundquist, Logan Hastings, and Keegan Kernodle.
The community is invited to join the congregation for any or all of these activities.
