The Sandpoint Cutthroat Lacrosse girls team, more than 20 members strong, recently lost a pair of games in Spokane. Hattie Larson scored a hat trick and Gracie Garcia added a goal in an 11-4 loss. In the next game, Garcia netted four goals, Cece DePrez had a hat trick and Lyla Kinman scored a goal in a 10-8 loss to the same team, but managed to win more than 60 percent of the draws. Berkeley Cox and Peyton Cessna did a stellar job in the goal. “They’re all from all walks of life, soccer, basketball, gymnastics. They’ve all welcomed this new sport and worked really hard,” said coach Nancy Dooley. “After our first games, the coach said ‘I can’t believe you’ve only played for three weeks.” Pictured front row, from left to right: Berkeley Cox (in goalie gear), Payton Betz, Priya Sullivan, Peyton Cessna, Rowan Davis, Lyla Kinman, Cassidy Aiken, Milla Coggin and Mackenzie Suhy Gregoire.
