SANDPOINT — Ever wanted to learn how to sail? Now is the chance.

Once again, Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and the Sandpoint Sailing Association are combining to offer free Saturday Sailing Workshops that have valuable information for anyone interested in sailing. They provide a great way to get involved in the local sailing community during the winter months. No pre-registration is required, just show up ready to learn.

The New Sailor workshop will take place on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Sandpoint Community Hall (204 First Ave.) This class will help new sailors and those interested in sailing become familiar with sailboats and learn how to get out on the water. We will cover basic terminology, knot tying, basic sailboat design and beginning sailing techniques.

Adults and Youth at least 10 years-old are encouraged to attend.

Please check the Sandpoint Sailing Association website for more information at www.sandpointsailing.com, or call Parks and Rec at 263-3613.
