A friend forwarded an email from Dan McDonald on the Clagstone conservation project. I decided to go visit the office of Fish and Game to learn more.
At Forest Legacy I learned about the taxes that fracking and offshore drilling pay on state and federal
lands that are only for conservation. I saw that the county commissioners’ office received paperwork on the Clagstone in 2013. But two new commissioners had not read it. Heather Scott emailed Sudick; flagging Clagstone negatively. Sudick could have pulled existing paperwork or asked Planning Department for it; it was easily available.
With research I learned Clagstone is about public access for walking, fishing, hunting; supporting timber harvest, good forest management, wildlife habitat, as well as drinking water for 600,000 people. That is big in my book!
I supported Todd last election. I never believed he would destroy public input, or not share the whole truth on the benefits of the Clagstone project. I am saddened.
I suggest folks learn more themselves. Base opinions on facts.
