For those of us who have lived in Bonner County forever, we have watched the rise and fall of all kinds of small businesses. People just like you and me, sinking everything they have into a dream, then for one reason or the other closing their doors. Recently a new business opened its doors and it is not the economy hindering its success, it is the building owner next door and the business owners who rent from him, shame on all of you! Instead of supporting and promoting you are harassing and bullying; so sad.
I am not sure what your parents taught you, but mine taught me to never judge a book by its cover. The business in question is a pub, a place where some of the most influential people in Sandpoint frequent, a pub where people gather to laugh and joke and complain, a pub where some of the nicest people I know go, a pub where the people would never damage property or interrupt another’s livelihood.
So, again, shame on you building owner and business owners for not welcoming a new business to Sandpoint, wishing them luck and taking a second to get to know them, because you are certainly missing out. It is a sad day indeed when long-time locals open a business and are threatened by a transplant with too much money and time on his hands!
