During this campaign season, we’ve seen Senator Keough at only one candidate forum out of five she was invited to.

As residents of Bonner County, we would have liked to ask her questions in person about the Clagstone conservation issue which fiscally responsible citizens see as a textbook case of crony capitalism. However, she avoids forums and events that would give her the opportunity to meet constituents in person. Instead, on the Clagstone matter, she issued a five-page justification for her vote and refers people to her website for yet another justification.

We expect our Senator to be more accessible. Hiding behind written statements and referring us to her website is not “access.” It signals that she takes her seat for granted.

So, our vote will go to Glenn Rohrer for Senate. He’s attended every forum, talks to people at length, and his answer on Clagstone resonated with us.
