POAC to announce awards

With programs from finger painting to classical ballet, Pend Oreille Arts Council relies on the many dedicated volunteers in the community to successfully pull off its diverse activities and events each year.

In order to recognize some of the long-time achievements of a few individuals, POAC will announce who will receive their 2016 Appreciation Awards at The Art Party on Saturday, June 4.

To be held at the Columbia Bank Atrium starting at 5 p.m., The Art Party will put fun into fundraising as well as honor the efforts of the teacher, patron, business, volunteer and artist of the year.

The event will showcase POAC’s Ovations program that exposes our local students to world-class performing arts and Kaleidoscope which, in partnership with Community Assistance League, brings hands-on art education into our elementary schools.
