1. Increase in salary and benefits for my employees.

My employees are expected to lay down their lives on a daily basis. Despite the excellent jobs that they perform, they are not compensated in a manner that sustains them in our community.

2. I have 30 years experience in law enforcement and seven years experience as sheriff of Bonner County.

3. I plan to continue to do the job I have done for the past seven years while serving as your sheriff. (www.wheeler4sheriff.com)

4. In the same manner as I have in the past seven years. (www.wheeler4sheriff.com)

5. I laid out the greatest threat to our community in my 2015 911 address, which is the failure of the federal government to secure our boarders and vet the guests coming into our country.

Both terrorists and illegal drugs slip through the borders daily. We need to vet everyone on their own merit instead of by groups. If they can’t be vetted, they can’t come in.

6. To continue to cut off the supply and demand.

Ultimately, the supply is going to continue as long as our borders are so porous.

It is time for our federal partners to take the boarder situation seriously. I took the lead along with Joyce Broad-sword to cut off the ephedrine supply in our state. The de- mand is another issue.

I support 7B Drug Free and any other effort to change the heart of an individual that thinks they need drugs to be happy.

7. I have been a statewide leader for Constitutional Carry. Because I am aligning our state bylaws with our federal bylaws.

8. My typical workday consists of attending meetings with my staff, interfacing with the community and handling mountains of paperwork.

9. I would love to wake up the next morning and find out that our county commissioners wanted to solve the wage and benefit deficiencies in my office.

That would make my employees happy. They deserve to be happy because they work so hard.

10. Keeping people informed. Please see my Facebook, sign up for Nixle and participate in “Community Force”. If you are a victim, sign up with the VINE program. (See www.bonnerso.org)

11. My experience, qualifications and accomplishments. (www.wheeler4sheriff.com)

12. I am criticized for the expenditure of the Lenco BearCat armored vehicle.

Most people criticize it because they think I have brought the military to Bonner County. This is not so. The BearCat is a defensive tool that keeps our deputies and the citizens safe.

13. I must live within the budget provided me by the commissioners. The crime creeping into Bonner County from Spokane and Kootenai counties must be stopped.

I requested an additional crime analysis detective, which was not funded by our commissioners in the last budget cycle.

I will be making the same request this budget year.

14. Question: Do you have the needed executive training and experience for the job?

Answer: Yes. (See www.wheeler4sheriff.com)
